What it is for. A to-do list for the office and the crew: short work items with a priority, a due date, an assignee and an optional checklist. Items can be attached to a job but do not have to be.
What you see when you open it. Top-left is a grey line reading "{n} tasks total" β that is the count of all your tasks, not the filtered ones. Top-right, a switch between Kanban (the default) and List, then a blue New Task button.
The filter bar has a search box that matches on the task title only, a status dropdown (To Do / In Progress / Done / Blocked) and a priority dropdown (Low / Medium / High / Urgent). A Clear link appears once any filter is set. The number on the far right is the filtered count.
Kanban view shows four fixed columns, each headed with its name and count. Every card carries the title, the job name if there is one, the due date, a priority pill, the assignee, and "x/y done" when the task has a checklist. Pencil and trash sit top-right of each card.
List view is a table: Title, Status, Priority, Category, Job, Due, Assigned To. Empty, it reads "No tasks found."
There are no summary cards and no Today / This Week / Overdue filters on this page.
Creating one. New Task opens a form with these fields:
| Field | Required | Options |
|---|---|---|
| Title | Yes β Save stays disabled while it is blank | β |
| Priority | No, defaults to Medium | Low, Medium, High, Urgent |
| Status | No, defaults to To Do | To Do, In Progress, Done, Blocked |
| Due Date | No | β |
| Category | No, defaults to General | General, Punch List, Inspection, Follow-up, Material Order, Other |
| Assigned To | No | Unassigned, or any installer on your account |
| Job | No | No job, or any of your jobs |
| Description | No | β |
| Checklist | No | Type items by hand, or pick from your Equipment list |
On save you get a "Task created" confirmation and the list refreshes.
Changing one. The pencil opens an edit form with the same fields. The trash asks to confirm, then deletes.
Two things this page does not do, despite looking like it should: you cannot drag cards between Kanban columns, and you cannot tick checklist items off from the card. Changing a status means opening Edit.
What happens automatically. Nothing. This page creates, updates and deletes tasks and nothing else β no emails, no texts, no other records.
What it connects to. Jobs, for the job dropdown. Installers, for the assignee. Equipment, for the checklist picker. Tasks attached to a job also appear on that job's page.
