3. Bid Management

What it is for. Package up a scope of work, invite subs to quote it, compare their prices side by side, and award the work.

What you see. Cards for open bids and their budgeted value, responses received, and awarded packages. Then the packages themselves.

How it runs. Create a package with the scope and a budget estimate. Invite contractors — they get an email with a link into a bid portal where they submit a price without needing an account. Their responses appear side by side for comparison. Then award one.

Two things that will surprise you. Reopening a package to edit it shows no contractors ticked, even though invitations went out — the selection is not stored back onto the package. And the Awarded summary card stays at $0, because awarding does not write the amount back. Neither breaks the bidding itself; both make the summary unreliable.
