0.1 The spine

Almost everything in BuiltPro hangs off one chain. Learn this and the rest of the app explains itself:

   LEAD ──► ESTIMATE ──► JOB ──► INVOICE ──► INCOME
(enquiry) (the quote) (the work) (the bill) (money received)
  • A Lead is somebody who has not bought yet. It can come from your website, be typed in by hand, or arrive from a form.
  • An Estimate is the quote. Send it, the client opens it in their portal and signs it.
  • When the client signs, the app creates the Job and the Invoice for you. You do not create them by hand. This is the single most important automatic behaviour in the product.
  • A Job is the work. Everything on site attaches to it — tasks, daily logs, photos, punch list, time, change orders, purchase orders.
  • An Invoice is the bill. Mark it paid, or let the client pay through the portal, and an Income record is written.

Two side chains feed money out rather than in:

PURCHASE ORDER ──► (marked Delivered) ──► EXPENSE
FUEL LOG ──► (job selected) ──► EXPENSE
   CONTRACTOR PAYMENT ─────────────────────► EXPENSE

And one chain runs alongside the job for billing in stages on larger work:

SCHEDULE OF VALUES ──► PAY APPLICATION ──► SWORN STATEMENT / LIEN WAIVER
